The 2nd Annual South River Days Celebration gets underway next week with a variety of activities, including a General Membership Meeting Tuesday at the Londontowne Community Hall. Chesapeake Conservation Corps Volunteers Carol Wong and Joe Ports will share their experience with the South River and West/Rhode River Snapshot, and Crystal Spring project team member Doug Lashley of GreenVest will present ways communities can collaborate on efforts in the watershed. Doug is currently working with the Federation on a variety of projects and is seeking to facilitate restoration opportunities throughout the watershed to help reduce pollution loads to the river. On Saturday, June 9th, attendees will kayak around Mayo Beach Park, and then return for a picnic and other family fun activities.
